American Greatness #1

The last 8 years of American politics, distilled into a revolting, thousand-foot tall monster tromping through the American heartland.

Current Funding: $1,363
Funding Goal: $3,500
Days Left: 15
Link: American Greatness #1

Deep within the suburban jungle of Cincinnati, a monster has emerged, bursting out of the Rumpke Sanitary Landfill. Taking its name from its birthplace, Rumpke is a thousand feet tall, has revolting personal habits, and might be vaguely familiar to readers, considering his orange-tinged hair and proportionally tiny hands. What do Americans do when such a creature appears, lumbers around at random, and occasionally defiles a local landmark? For millions, the choice is obvious – worship it.

New York journalist Fred Millard is assigned to report on the exploits of the monster, his bizarre fandom, and the ludicrous internet conspiracy theories that have caught fire since his appearance. Fred quickly learns that the absurdity of Rumpke’s fandom leads to more serious consequences than mere internet hysteria – when serious illness starts to spread in those closest to the monster, its biggest fans refuse to follow the government’s guidance of masking and social distancing, worsening the outbreak. And most appalling of all, one conspiracy theory inspires a violent mob to assemble in Washington, DC and assault a federal building, with deadly results.

A funhouse-mirror reflection of modern American politics, AMERICAN GREATNESS is a raunchy and hilarious political satire comic series. With art by Seb Valencia, it was written for all of us who are exhausted, baffled, and even terrified by the insanity of American politics in recent times.

AMERICAN GREATNESS #1 is the first issue of a planned five or six issue series that distills modern American politics into a revolting, thousand-foot monster, tromping through the heartland of America.

Smut (#1 of 3) – A NSFW Slice of Life Comedy

A personal trainer attempts to clean up her act and get to know her date before jumping his bones. A 32 page comic about trust and sex.

Current Funding: $10,541
Funding Goal: $8,000
Days Left: 4
Link: Smut (#1 of 3) – A NSFW Slice of Life Comedy
Smut is a NSFW erotic comedy about three friends facing relationship problems, the promises they make to resolve them, and the sex they have along the way. Think Giant Days meets Sunstone.
In this 32 page first issue, “Trying Your Best,” Dakota sets out on her first date with Lance on a mission: try not to screw it up. Too many of her recent first dates have ended with sex as a cop out to keep from getting close, but no more!
One small problem, he’s kind of good at this dating thing. He asked her out without saying “can I bag that?” he’s asking questions about her and actually listening to her answers. He’s not droning on about Bitcoin the entire time…This might be harder than Dakota thought!
Will Dakota stick to her resolution and go home unf***ed? Or will she realize that maybe her priorities are in the wrong place and it’s okay to stick around for someone who exceeds your standards? The answer may not surprise you!

Current Funding: $4,928

Link: No One Can Know I Don’t Like Sex – An aro/ace humor comic

My name is Akhts (also known as AkhtsJrep or bloggingboutburgers across my social media) and I’m a French self-taught artist. In 2022, I started drawing comics about my experience as a sex-repulsed asexual and aromantic, and these have found an audience in asexuals and aromantics who appreciated the relatability, as well as people from other orientations (LGBTQ+ or straight) who were keen on looking at things from a different perspective.

After sharing these comics on my social media and webtoon platforms, I have now decided to compile a collection of them in printed form, under the following title:

The main goal of this comic is to educate and provide visibility through humor. It will include an introduction going through the nitty-gritty of asexual and aromantic identities, as well as my personal experience specifically, and will show snippets of life in a queer platonic relationship.

Trans and nonbinary exploration and acceptance has always been deeply rooted in sapphic communities and expression, and this is something we want to honour and reflect in the anthology.

With content tags before each story to help the reader decide if it’s to their taste, this collection is sweet, sexy, smutty and Succulent.

Current Funding: $24,768
Funding Goal: $25,000
Days Left: 19
Link: Outbreak Park
The Walking Dead meets Jurassic Park!
Writer Allan Amato and artist Andy Belanger bring you their startling vision of a post-post apocalyptic world. Humanity exists in vastly smaller numbers, within fortified enclaves mirroring the early city-states of ancient Greece. While a vaccine inoculating humans against a bite has been created, most of the planet is still subject to roving herds of undead. And equally frightening anarchist wellness Men’s groups..

In New Alhambra, Outbreak Park is built to further research into the undead phenomenon, using docile zombies as teaching tools for the children growing up in the new republic. Lest the near extinction of humanity ever be forgotten, and repeated.

But while humanity is slowly clawing it way back from the brink, underneath the veneer of civilization lies a fervent minority plotting against the yoke; religious zealots that insist god’s plan for the Rapture is being interrupted, disgraced politicians flung from the halls of power after their abysmal handling of the initial outbreak. Their plan is to release the park’s occupants back into the fledgeling city, destabilizing the new regime.

And only Jack and Beulah – two warriors grudgingly forced to work together – can keep their world from crashing back into the abyss. Especially when a bite gets through the vaccine, creating zombie hybrids resistant to everything but a heavy pipe to the back of the head!
