Behind the Horror and Death: Nosferatu
Switchblade Shorties
Befor hover parents, children ran wild. The wildest of these feral children were the Switchblade Shorties, operating as a kind of foul-mouthed, irreverent Our Gang: “Sodapop” Tanner, Pinky Winslow, Sheena Belvedere, “Charly Horse” Kinison and Foster Lambert. When their friend Petey Wheatcakes disappears, the Switchblade Shorties turn off their video games and try to find him. Instead, they encounter aliens, Bigfoot, werewolves, and more in this twisted ode to the 1990s – an era before the internet destroyed our imaginations.
Earlier this year, the comics world lost a singular unique voice with the untimely passing of Ed Piskor. To celebrate his life and legacy, his family are picking up where he left off. They have united together to release his final unpublished work, Switchblade Shorties, as a gorgeous hardcover that fans of Ed’s work will not want to miss. Originally appearing as the backup strip Latchkey Kidz in Piskor’s Red Room, the strip was retitled Switchblade Shorties when officially launched online as its own daily comic strip.
The landscape formatted 12×9 hardcover book contains over 176 pages of Ed Piskor at his best. The book is written, drawn, colored and lettered by Piskor alone. His family has taken great measures to make this release as special as possible and ensure that the book is being presented exactly as Ed had originally intended.
Piskor’s family has been instrumental in ensuring the legacy of Ed Piskor remains a vibrant one in the world of comics, and that his contributions will be remembered for a long time to come.
The Life and Death of the Brave Captain Suave
The Life and Death of the Brave Captain Suave is a metatextual comic book series about a homeless man living in Cleveland, Ohio that believes he is an actual superhero.
Written by Joseph Sieracki and drawn by Kelly Williams, Captain Suave is a modern take on Don Quixote, and is collected here for the very first time in a beautiful upgraded softcover!
A homeless man that thinks he’s a superhero befriends an ex-nursing student with a penchant for drugs on the streets of Cleveland, Ohio. The unlikely pair find themselves bouncing from one mishap to another, all while trying to make a small but positive difference in the lives of those they encounter. A hero the city neither needs nor deserves, Captain Suave is a man out of time determined to be a Golden Age superhero. Not unlike Don Quixote of Cervantes’s classic tale, this hero will straddle the line between insanity and benevolence.
Along with his sidekick, Champ, Captain Suave will battle the imaginary forces of evil threatening the fair city of Cleveland. Stopping a wind turbine he mistakes for a hydra from demolishing the city, saving unwitting damsels in distress, and even thwarting real-life robbers, no evildoer is safe from the awesome and quixotic might of Captain Suave!
Why is this important?
A singular take on the superhero genre: Paying tribute to Cleveland’s storied history in comic books, Captain Suave is a hero like no other. Though he is only a superhero of the mind, he will show readers that it doesn’t take superpowers to do what’s right and help others.
Classic literary elements: Blending Golden Age superheroes with Don Quixote, this is a modern take on the Miguel de Cervantes classic, sure to excite both comic book and classic literature readers alike.
Unique visuals: Incorporating both hand-painted watercolors and digital coloring, different artistic styles depict the hero’s fantasy versus what’s happening in reality on the page. Employing a digital dot pattern evoking a Golden Age style of comic book coloring, what the hero believes is happening has a distinctly different feel from the real, painted world.

White Ash 1-8
The long running hit fantasy series about Elves and Dwarves in Pennsylvania returns with an ALL-NEW 44 page issue.
White Ash is an ongoing, urban fantasy comic book series written by Charlie Stickney, with art by Conor Hughes, Julian Shaw, Tango and colors by Fin Cramb.
First launched on Kickstarter in 2017, White Ash is one of the longest running and most popular series on the platform. With over 500 pages of story so far, now is the perfect time to join us.
This campaign, we are raising funds for the 44 page, White Ash: Chapter 08.
In Chapter One, we met Aleck the son of a coal miner, who’d been counting down the hours till he could get the hell out of town and head off to college. Because shockingly, the last thing Aleck wanted out of his life, was to be… a coal miner.
But an apparent accident at the mine where his father was injured, stalled Aleck’s exit, setting him down a life-altering path.
And from there, things got CRAZY (that’s where all the fantasy elements come in) We can’t really tell you too much without getting into heavy SPOILER TERRITORY.

The Comics Courier, A New Comics Criticism Journal
A newspaper-format journal dedicated to in-depth comics criticism edited by Tiffany Babb
Comics criticism is in a dire spot. Spaces for writing about comics are disappearing at a worrisome pace, and more than ever, comics critics need support – and a place to write.
The Comics Courier is a new biannual print newspaper edited by Tiffany Babb (Popverse, PanelxPanel). The first issue will feature essays and reviews from critics Douglas Wolk, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, Tiffany Babb, Dave Baker, Carrie McClain, Sean Dillon, Kat Calamia, Lisa and Brad Gullickson, Liam McGuire, Jim McDermott, and Lillie Hochwender.
Our core goal is to create a space for serious (and silly) writing about comics and to share our love for the medium, the creators, and the comics themselves. Thank you for your support.

Demon City vol 1: Hell on Earth
Death has been murdered. Now no one can die! A horror / crime story for mature readers who like Hellboy, Lethal Weapon, & Lovecraft!
The apocalypse has happened. For thirty minutes, demons spewed forth from the ground and it seemed like the world was coming to an end. And then suddenly, without warning…it just stopped.
It’s a premature apocalypse, I’m told it happens to everybody.
Three years later: Sheila Garcia is a Chicago detective who has a streak of being reckless. Like she has some kind of death wish. No one wants to partner with her. So she’s assigned Horace Nightengale as her new partner – the first demon detective.
Just as they’re starting to get along, they catch their first case. Which is the last homicide that will ever happen.
Why would someone kill Death? And what kind of hell breaks loose now that he’s dead?
Demon City is a 168 page full color deluxe hardcover graphic novel for mature readers.
A horror / crime noir / buddy cop story. For readers who love movies like Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys, and Die Hard – but with a supernatural twist, like HellBoy, Blade, or Bright.
