We also want to try an highlight those projects that still need a push along with those that are pursuing the fun stretch goals.

Back around 2009, my stepdad brought home a stuffed chicken from his job at county waste management. He slapped him down and asked if I wanted him. I perplexedly replied, “Sure”, and there he sat for in my bedroom, collecting dust, for nearly a year, when I decided to start dressing him in cosplay and bringing him to comic shows as my sidekick/mascot at my artist alley booths. The stares of confusion were numerous, but over time he became a bit of a mainstay. Fans and folks began to ask me, “WHEN IS HE GETTING HIS OWN COMIC?” My reply was usually that I’d think about it when I finished Space Tales, a long-running comic series I was embroiled with at the time.
In 2015, I gave Chicken his first promo poster to let people know that I was seriously considering it. When I finished the last chapter, and put out my trade paperback, of IMPOSSIBLE SPACE TALES OF THE LAST PIT STOP in 2018, I began labor on what would become CHICKEN: USDA REJECTED, Chicken’s first adventure.
Without giving too much away, I can best sum up this tale as “What if John Waters had produced an episode of The New Scooby Doo Adventures”. It starts off in Richmond as Chicken and I are about to head off to a comic con up north. I “accidentally” leave him behind and thus the impetus of an cross-state misadventure begins!
Join Chicken as he winds up in Florida alongside a returning Monsignor Larry as they go on tour with the worlds greatest Hardcore Horror Punk band, BEULAH LUGOSI & THE EX-WIVES OF DRACULA and work together to defeat the mysterious, PHANTOM OF THE PHONE BOOK DISTRIBUTION CENTER!
