The new X-Factor series was selected by Gabriel De Jesus and here is what he had to say: “It’s fun. It’s gorgeous. It’s well thought out. And it’s written with such knowledge of X-continuity that it’s clear it’s written by a fan for the fans.”

It’s a must read for X-Men and comic fans alike!”

Ant-Man Miniseries
Writer: Zeb Wells
Artist: Dylan Burnett

Letters: Cory Petit

Lillian Hochwender nominated this year’s Ant-Man miniseries which Lillian said “offers readers a much-needed respite from reality. Ant-Man’s creative team places a dad/daughter relationship center stage and invite us into a f-ant-astical plot where phrases like “Nazi scientist made of bees” are commonplace. The comic’s knack for comedic timing and vibrant, classic visuals make this short read an easily overlooked gem.”
VENOM Series
Writer: Donny Cates
Artist: Mark Bagley, Andy Owens, Iban Coello
Colors: Frank Martin, Jesus Aburtov
Letters: Clayton Cowles
Covers: Ryan Stegman, JP Mayer, Frank Martin, Iban Coello
Venom was selected by Mike Eakins (also a personal favorite run of mine!) who had this to say. “Donny Cates has not only elevated Venom, but completely redone Eddie Brock, not to mention creating Dylan and Knull. Cates has managed to Kinect a new myriad of feelings and emotions into these characters that we’ve never seen in this title. As a life long fan, I can’t remember a time when I was this excited about reading Venom. No one writes a better Venom and it will be a long time until we see another run like this. It’s a GREAT time to be a Venom fan.”
The Immortal HULK Series

Deadpool Series

Letters: Joe Sabino

Deadpool was selected by Nic Osborn who said… “While X-Men, Daredevil and Venom have had plenty of Marvel fans excited, Kelly Thompson and company have been delivering a surprise hit on their run of Deadpool this year. As King of the Monsters, the character is elevated from typically fun but oftentimes hollow stories into something with depth as the Merc with a Mouth finds his place in the greater Marvel universe.”
EMPYRE #6
Writer: Al Ewing, Dan Slott
Artist: Valerio Schiti

Letters: Joe Caramagna
Empyre – specifically issue six was chosen by J.A Fludd, here is a snippet of his thoughts I took from his amazing review: “The conclusion of Empyre reminds us that even in this corporate-driven, “event”-dominated, franchise-oriented era of Marvel publishing, Marvel Comics can still be great. The action and suspense never let up in this grand finale. Al Ewing and Dan Slott have taken an intricate, epic-scale story, laden with plot and character details, and pulled the whole thing together to a satisfying finish.”
