Titan Comics has revealed an extended art preview and all of the upcoming covers for Conan the Barbarian #1. This relaunch of the title is a result of a new partnership between Titan and Heroic Signatures, marking the titular Barbarian’s first series since his extended stay in the Marvel Universe. Issue #1 will hit shelves this July, and features writing from Jim Zub with art by Roberto De La Torre, colors by José Villarrubia, and letters from Richard Starkings of Comicraft.
This year’s Free Comic Book Day featured a Conan story that serves as a prelude to this #1, and helped to establish the tone and setting Conan returns to. Breaking away from his time as an Avenger and his more highflying adventures in the solo titles while at Marvel, this series returns the character to his more barbaric roots. The Marvel iteration of the character did get a sendoff in Savage Avengers and King Conan, closing that chapter of his story in a definitive manner.
The first issue features 15 variants featuring art from Dan Panosian, Mike Mignola, Jae Lee, and more. Alongside these covers and an extended look at the interior art, Titan has also released a trailer and synopsis for the relaunch.
