Controversy Strikes: Grooming Allegations Raised Against Ed Piskor as Accuser Comes Forward

Alternative writer/artist Ed Piskor, creator of American Splendor and X-Men: Grand Design, and co-host of the YouTube channel Cartoonist Kayfabe with Jim Rugg has come into the spotlight recently over yesterday’s allegations of disturbing behavior, which could look like potential grooming of a young, up and coming artist Molly Dwyer, sending her troubling direct messages while she was 17, and he was 40 years old.

Piskor rose to fame after his Eisner winning work Hip Hop Family Tree in 2013. He’d catch Marvel Comics attention, and be tasked to headline the retrospective series X-Men: Grand Design in 2017. He began his YouTube channel 5 years ago with Jim Rugg,

The posts began yesterday as Dwyer began posting screenshots between Piskor and herself, showing some very disturbing behavior from the comics pro, asking if she were 17 or 18, inviting her to his house several times, and other worrying statements. The pattern has sparked outrage from both Piskor’s supporters and detractors, but nothing yet from the comics pro. Piskor has disabled comments on both of his Instagram and YouTube accounts, as well as deleted several posts from his Instagram account.

Neither parties have answered to requests to respond to questions or comment since the conversations were made public.
