Dark Horse announces that the Eisner winning team of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be reuniting for a new Gothic sword and sorcery series, Helen of Wyndhorn. The book features writing from Tom King, art by Bilquis Evely, colors from Matheus Lopes, and lettering by Clayton Cowles. The publisher bills the series, which launches March 2024, as Conan the Barbarian meets The Wizard of Oz.
Following pulp writer Helen Cole, the book follows as she is forced to grapple with the death of her father and her grandfather’s sprawling estate. The many doors in the manner provide a path to adventure and wonder Helen soon learns, as she is thrust into elements of her father’s stories.
The main cover for the first issue comes from interior artists Evely and Lopes, and will feature variant covers by Tula Lotay, Elsa Charretier, Massimo Carnevale, and more artists. Some of those covers can be seen below:
Helen of Wyndhorn #1 (of 6) will go on sale March 13, 2024.
