DC revealed some of its titles for this year’s Free Comic Book Day earlier today. The publisher is playing its cards close to the chest for its flagship free issue, which is being teased as the launching point for an upcoming series launching this summer. That series is said to be a major event for the publisher that has been “30 years in the making.” No cover, creators, or story details were revealed by DC in the press release.
Alongside the issue, DC is also releasing Barkham Asylum 2024 FCBD Special Edition and Barda 2024 FCBD Special Edition, both of which are previews for upcoming graphic novels aimed at markets outside the traditional direct market customer. After the preview issues, Barkham Asylum launches May 7 from writer and artist Yehudi Mercado. Then, in June, Barda arrives in stores from cartoonist Ngozi Ukazu. The final issue of FCBD is Mad Magazine 2024 FCBD Special Edition, featuring a mix of classic and new pieces poking fun at the heroes of DC.
Limited copies of the FCBD issues will be on shelves and in comic shops May 4, 2024 before arriving on DC Universe Infinite.
