New image of fantastic Beast: The Crimes of Grindelwald gives us more then we expected.
In an exclusively revealed picture in Entertainment Weekly, we see a young Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, attending a class taught by a much younger-looking Albus Dumbledore played by Jude Law.
Judging from the picture we see Newt in his Hufflepuff robes with his wand in hand looking more scared then Ron facing off against Hermione with fellow students in the background looking just as dubious about the task at hand as a young and dashing Dumbledore looks on unconcerned.
With no word on what this scene may pertain to in the movie, it’s pretty clear that the film will touch on Newt’s short time at Hogwarts and the relationship he and Professor Dumbledore might have had during his youth in 1908 before he was expelled.
Fantastic Beast: The Crimes of Grindelwald is said to feature multiple flashback scenes of Newts past. But again nothing at this point is clear on what this image could mean to the story or if its one of many. What is known is that Dumbledore will request for the now adult Newts help in capturing the evil wizard and big bad of the film Grindelwald. The magical sequel will take place all over the world with new stories and beasts to experience along the way.
Hitting theaters Nov. 16, 2018, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is directed by David Yates, with J.K. Rowling, David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram serving as producers. The film stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Katherine Waterston as Tina, Alison Sudol as Queenie, Dan Fogler as Jacob, Ezra Miller as Credence, Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange and Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander. Proceeded by a yet-to-be-named Fantastic Beast 3 slated to be in theaters November 20, 2020.
