BOOM! Studios revealed a first look at the upcoming sophomore issue of its newest limited series, Animal Pound. The series, which comes from writer Tom King, artist Peter Gross, colorist Tamra Bonvillain, and letterer Clayton Cowles, establishes a modern retelling of George Orwell’s seminal allegory, Animal Farm. The animals in the pound earned their freedom in the first issue and now they must figure out what comes next for a burgeoning society.
Gross and Bonvillain also illustrated the primary cover for the issue, joined this time by artists Shimizu, Mike Del Mundo, and Bilquis Evely with Matheus Lopes for variants. Those covers, along with an unlettered preview of issue two can be seen below.
Animal Pound #2 will be available in comic shops and on digital platforms February 21, 2024.
