The new run of WEST COAST AVENGERS will hit the ground running just in time for the iconic title’s 40th anniversary. The series opens with Tony Stark assembling a new team consisting of War Machine; Jessica Drew, AKA Spider-Woman; Firestar, AND a mysteriously redeemed Ultron!
Gerry Duggan redefined Firestar’s role in the mutant mythos in the pages of X-Men, but this November, he takes the revitalized hero back to Earth’s Mightiest in a new run of WEST COAST AVENGERS alongside acclaimed artist Danny Kim! Today, fans can see Firestar in all her fiery glory as she takes the spotlight in the debut issue’s special Foil variant cover by superstar artist Adam Hughes.
The piece will blaze brightly on stands and features Angelica Jones in her newest costume, ready to set the world on fire as an Avenger once again!

Duggan has gone on record about the new series saying:
“Redemption has been on my mind this year, and we’ll see who can be redeemed on the West Coast. It’s a fun action story, but it’s also an Ultron tale – and one of my biggest Marvel swings yet. I previously had the pleasure of writing a pretty great horror story about Ultron wearing Pym’s face, and this is a very different tale with one of my favorite Marvel characters, in one of my favorite legacy titles in the city that has been my home for so long. Wait until you see what Danny Kim is cooking up. Find redemption in November in the city of Angels.”
