Fans have been long awaiting the debut of the next Avengers 4 trailer, however despite the intense desire for a taste of things to come Marvel Studios has resisted divulging any aspects of the film and still has not provided a date to its official release.
The question on everyone’s minds is of course why? What can be said without dispute is that fans are losing patience with numerous contradictory reports spanning from a release as soon as this week and other jaw dropping reports that the movie will have no trailer at all. It goes without saying that the latter speculative report seems unlikely and would be highly unusual for such a highly anticipated sequel to the preceding blockbuster film, Avengers: Infinity War surpassing 2 billion in gross sales.
However, if Marvel insiders are correct, Avengers 4 will in fact have a theatrical trailer. The question is when?
According to insider reports secured by Comic Watch, the Avengers 4 trailer will debut alongside Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse which will be released to theaters on December 14th 2018. That means the if indicated reports are correct, fans may need to steel themselves for another 2 weeks.
Sources report that Marvel’s reluctance to release the upcoming trailer is multifold, paramount among them being that the studio is making all attempts to avoid spoilers for the upcoming film. A significant problem for a trailer with the purpose of previewing events for the epic sequel.
Similarly, many new characters have been confirmed to join the sequel who were not present for the first films roster. Conversely, the film will reportedly introduce (and in some cases reintroduce,) figures which have still not been confirmed. Those close to the studio assert that the studio has taken painstaking steps to ensure that these characters, chief among them being their introductions and appearances are not leaked in advance.
Further reports cite that information for the films next installment are being closely guarded which makes the trailer problematic with various details potentially exposed.
It’s important to note that these reports are unconfirmed and Marvel Studios has made no official statement about the substantive content which includes at the time of this writing the film’s formal title and release date remains unknown.
