Dark Horse has announced a licensing partnership with Mantic Games allowing for the production of a Hellboy board game!
The new board game is described as a cooperative experience where players will face off against some of the most famous Hellboy Universe villains by taking control of up to four BPRD members including Hellboy, Abe Sapien, and Roger the Homunculus. Though it doesn’t have an official release date as of yet, it is slated to make its Kickstarter debut in April 2018. It will feature pre-assembled plastic miniatures that are said to accurately capture the look and feel of Mike Mignola’s Hellboy Universe.
Hellboy has appeared in many graphic novels and comics, short story collections, two animated films, two live-action films, merchandise of all types, and there is also a new Hellboy live-action reboot in the works directed by Neil Marshall staring Stranger Things’ David Harbour as Hellboy, Sasha Lane, Ian McShane, Penelope Mitchell, and Resident Evil’s Mila Jovovich as the Blood Queen. Now we get to see the Hellboy Universe receive the board game treatment by Mantic Games, who have also done the Walking Dead board game!
