Marvel has revealed the covers for the upcoming second issues of the Krakoan Age’s grand finales; Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X. The two series echoes this era’s launch titles (House of X and Powers of X) and come from key architects of the current line. Fall of the House of X #2 is written by Gerry Duggan with art by Lucas Werneck and a cover by Pepe Larraz, while Rise of the Powers of X #2 comes from writer Kieron Gillen and artist/cover artist R.B. Silva.
Both series promise to show the mutant nation’s last stand against the villainous organization of Orchis in both the present and future. In FoHox #2, Polaris makes a return from space, having spent the last chunk of time on the frequent Guardians of the Galaxy base, Knowhere. She brings with her a massive surprise that is said to help turn the course of the final fight. Meanwhile, in RoPox #2, mutantdom is trapped in a pocket of reality outside of spacetime, trying to avoid the threat of the Dominion.
Fall of the House of X writer Gerry Duggan discussed the arc of these two series in the press release, stating:
“The two series that are one has been where this story has been leading since the Dawn of Krakoa. Polaris is coming from Knowhere, and we hope you’ll join us as well…”
