Ed Piskor’s ambitious condensed history of the merry mutants will be released in oversized trade paperback format next week and we get our first look at the cover for Second Genesis
According to Screen Rant which revealed the cover yesterday, the TPB which retells the story and biggest moments in the long convoluted history of the X-Men in single ‘corrected’ linear form has received critical acclaim, will also feature Ed Piskor’s awesome re-coloring of the hit classic, Giant Sized X-Men # 1.
Furthermore, the article goes on to reveal what we can expect in the TPB which will be released as a Marvel Treasury Edition in the same oversized format that Piskor’s previous work Hip Hop Family Tree and will contain not only the first two issues of X-Men: Grand Design as well as X-Men #1 from 1963 – written by Stan Lee, penciled by Jack Kirby, inked by Paul Reinmen, lettered by Sam Rosen But will be now be recolored by Piskor in his distinctive style, will also feature extras including recolored classic pinups.
Piskor has created something truly epic in this retelling of the history of Marvel’s most famous group of underdogs in an ambitious and dazzling project that is truly one of a kind.
The X-MEN: GRAND DESIGN trade paperback is on sale in bookstores on April 3rd and on sale in comic shops on April 4th.
