Ending Thursday night of Comic Con at Home, the Image Comics Spotlight features Donny Cates, Geoff Shaw, Dee Cunniffe, and John J. Hill discussing the highly anticipated but very mysterious upcoming ongoing series called Crossover.
“Crossover is the scariest goddamn book I have ever attempted to produce in my entire life and that is why its the most exciting thing I’ve ever done,” says Donny Cates. Cates goes on to refer to Crossover as “… Avengers: End Game meets Cloverfield.”
Crossover will follow a host of creator-owned characters trying to survive a comics crossover event but the creators are clear that it is not an attack on the “big summer event” in comics. Crossover is cited as a celebration of comics, very much in tune with Donny Cates’ typical ethos.
