It’s a Nice Day for a White Queen’s Wedding in the Upcoming X-MEN #26 and INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #10

Marvel revealed earlier in an exclusive with IGN today the covers for the upcoming X-Men #26 and Invincible Iron Man #10, which depicts the wedding of Tony Stark and Emma Frost. Both issues hit shelves this September from writer Gerry Duggan and artist Stefano Caselli (X-Men #26) and Juan Frigeri (Invincible Iron Man #10) while Lucas Werneck will illustrate both covers.

The surprised, but long teased, wedding kicks off in X-Men #26 taking the mutant population of Krakoa by surprise. The official ceremony then follows in Invincible Iron Man #10, and everyone from the X-Men, to Avengers, and even Orchis make their plans to attend.

Duggan spoke with IGN, stating:

“Neither seems like the marrying type. Why this works, and how this works, and how much fun this is whether their marriage works or not will need to be seen to be believed and you’ll have to buy it to find out! They certainly don’t seem like they’re ready to be married to anyone, let alone to each other, but life can change quickly.”

This announcement just adds more wrinkles as the annual Hellfire Gala and Fall of X approach. The seeds of Tony Stark’s involvement with Iron Sentinels have been planted across Invincible Iron Man and with a new Avengers/X-Men Unity team launching later this year, this union does make sense. It also pays off a reference from Mark Waid and Javier Rodriguez’s History of the Marvel Universe, which teased the eventual marriage of Tony and Emma.
