A legendary Marvel character celebrates their birthday this November in the 50th anniversary one-shot, Howard the Duck #1. The issue, which was announced during San Diego Comic-Con, reunites writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Joe Quinones, the team behind the last Howard the Duck ongoing. The duo will be joined by a group of creatives to tell new stories and celebrate the duck detective.
According to the press release, the book dips into lives that could have been for Howard thanks to a new cosmic character called the Peeper. Some of the tales to astonish include a riff on Independence Day by writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Annie Wu and Howard leading the Guardians of the Galaxy in a story from writer Merritt K and artist Will Robson.
