It’s Miles vs. Carnage: Dawn of Symbiotes in the Trailer for CARNAGE REIGNS

After last week’s announcement of the Carnage Reigns crossover, which operates as a part of the larger Summer of Symbiotes event, Marvel has now shared a trailer for the upcoming story arc. The crossover will connect Miles Morales: Spider-Man, Carnage, and Red Goblin, coming from writers Alex Paknadel and Cody Ziglar, and features art by Julius Ohta, Jan Bazaldua, Federico Vicentini and Francesco Manna.

Starting with Carnage Reigns Alpha #1, the series will see Miles Morales’s Spider-Man and Cletus Kasady’s Carnage facing off for New York after the villain’s return. Miles was instrumental in defeating Carnage in his last major event, Absolute Carnage, making this clash a natural stop in both character’s larger story arcs.

In an interview with Bloody Disgusting, Paknadel had this to say about the event:

“Carnage Reigns is an old-fashioned David and Goliath story pitting a greener Spider-Man against the most sadistic monster in the Marvel Universe—Cletus Kasady! Miles has only been this out of his depth on a handful of occasions, which is a gift from a storytelling perspective. I’ve really enjoyed crafting this tale with Cody Ziglar, and we’ve developed a really fun, really productive working shorthand and that fun is present on the page! We know this story will satisfy fans of both characters in their FIRST-EVER CROSSOVER!”
