It’s Spector vs. Spectre in the Upcoming DEATH OF MOON KNIGHT Storyline!

Marvel announces the end of the current Moon Knight run by teasing the next death in the Marvel Universe. Writer Jed MacKay and artist Alessandro Cappuccio have spun a tale of redemption and recovery from the fallout of Jason Aaron’s Avengers: Age of Khonshu storyline, and now bring it to a close.

The death of Marc Spector starts in issue #28 this October before continuing into #29, featuring artist Federico Sabbatini filling in for one last time. The last part of the three issue epic occurs in #30 as the culmination of Moon Knight and Black Spectre’s bloody fight for the soul of the city.

In the press release from Marvel, writer Jed MacKay described bringing this run to a close:

“Almost all the pieces are now on the board—on one side, Moon Knight and his allies in the Midnight Mission, and on the other, the Black Spectre, his creatures, and his plan for New York. We’ve been building towards this confrontation since #19, and starting with MOON KNIGHT #28, Moon Knight and the Black Spectre go to war. It’s not just a question of victory, but survival itself. The Midnight Mission is already cloaked in the black of mourning…”

Along with the announcement, Marvel has shared a first look at Stephen Segovia’s cover for issue #29:
