Judgement Day Comes for the Star Wars Universe in DARK DROIDS Crossover

Marvel has revealed more information about the upcoming Star Wars crossover, Dark Droids, which promises to bring techno-horror to the galaxy far, far away starting this August. The main event will unfold in a central series by writer Charles Soule and artist Luke Ross (the creative team behind the last crossover, War of the Bounty Hunters) and will be joined by a new limited spinoff series, Star Wars: Dark Droids – D-Squad. The four current series exploring the window between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (Star Wars, Darth Vader, Doctor Aphra & Bounty Hunters) will also tie-into the event.

The story is set to follow as an ancient Sith technology and a High Republic revolutionary droid join to create a powerful force that twists the alliance of droids from across the universe. The solicitations and press release mention the fact that even Darth Vader, who is more machine than man at this point in Star Wars continuity, is affected by the central threat. Stories across Hidden Empire, Doctor Aphra and Han Solo & Chewbacca have all been building up the components to this threat, and appear to pay off with Dark Droids
