Marvel reveals the next installment of Kamala Khan’s transition into the larger X-line of books with a new miniseries, Ms. Marvel: Mutant Menace. The limited series, which will be written by Ms. Marvel’s Iman Vellani and Sabir Pirzada and features art from Scott Godlewski, picks up on the plot threads from Ms. Marvel: The New Mutant. The limited series will also feature covers from The New Mutant artist Carlos Gómez.
The series saw the hero uncover her mutant heritage while battling Orchis on Empire State University’s campus. In the new series, Ms. Marvel returns to New Jersey to continue the balance between Kamala’s personal life and X-Men shenanigans, as she teams up with other key mutants and fights classic X-villains. The book also looks to investigate whether or not the community at large will accept Ms. Marvel due to her new status as a mutant.
In the press release, writer Sabir Pirzada discussed working on the series with co-writer Iman Vellani:
“It’s been an absolute joy and privilege to get to co-write Ms. Marvel with Iman Vellani, who has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is THE voice of Ms. Marvel on the page just as much as she is on the screen. We are excited to report that Kamala’s mutant journey will continue on in MS. MARVEL: MUTANT MENACE. It will be Kamala’s most dangerous ride yet.”
