Boasting more than 190 pages of original art reproduced at their original size, allowing every detail to sing — every muscle, every sword, every drop of blood and bead of sweat — the book presents glorious full-color reproductions of the original art, from inked lineart to beautiful gray washes, and even vivid paintings from the Cimmerian’s comic book adventures.

Art this good needs a worthy presentation — and master designer IAN CHALGREN (as seen on Cartoon Kayfabe) pulled out all the stops, with brand-new text pieces by writer, editor, and comics historian CHRIS RYALL (Mighty Marvel Calendar Book: A Visual History), and an original introduction by ROY THOMAS, unparalleled scribe of these timeless tales of the world’s most popular barbarian.

CONAN THE BARBARIAN – COLOSSAL EDITION is divided into three sections; the first three each shine a torchlight on the work of one of the greatest sword-and-sorcery artists of all time: JOHN BUSCEMA, GIL KANE, and BARRY WINDSOR-SMITH. Each section pulls pages from the decades of incomparable artistry that filled the pages of CONAN THE BARBARIAN, KING CONAN, THE SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN, GIANT-SIZE CONAN, SAVAGE TALES, WHAT IF, CONAN THE BARBARIAN MOVIE SPECIAL, and more!

Each artist’s section is presented in chronological order, so you can see how their individual approaches changed over the course of decades, all bracketing the centerpiece of this collection — the complete story “DEVIL-WINGS OVER SHADIZAR” from CONAN THE BARBARIAN #6 by ROY THOMAS, BARRY WINDSOR-SMITH, and SAL BUSCEMA, with every page presented in full incredible detail.

Finally, the book concludes with an extended section of key pages by other incredible artists — some regularly associated with CONAN and some thrilling surprises, including: ART ADAMS, NEAL ADAMS, ALFREDO ALCALA, ENRIQUE ALCATENA, ERNIE CHAN, HOWARD CHAYKIN, JOE CHOIDO, TIM CONRAD, GEOF ISHERWOOD, GARY KWAPISZ, JIM LEE, ESTEBAN MAROTO, JOHN MCCREA, RUDY NEBRES, ALEX NINO, KEVIN NOWLAN, TONY SALMONS, BILL SIENKIEWICZ, ALEX TOTH, and JORGE ZAFFINO.

Going Green

The supernatural family drama of Locke & Key meets the biological horror of Annihilation in a modern-day monster comic with heart. This is a tale of family, loss, and second chances in a strange new world where the dead emerge from soil derived from their composted remains, giving them life anew.
Current Funding: $3,014
Funding Goal: $10,000
Days Left: 12
Link: Going Green

Beginning in the Pacific Northwest after the Dunn children suffer the tragic loss of their father. Instead of burying him, they go the route of an affordable new method of laying your loved ones to rest called Going Green, which composts the remains into soil as a greener alternative. Shortly after, their lives begin to change dramatically as their formerly deceased dad is reincarnated as a plant-hybrid creature. Meanwhile, a dangerous, kaiju-like hive mind comprised of the reanimated remains of the town’s deceased, is beginning to uproot as an internal battle wages within its ecosystem of conflicting personalities.

GOING GREEN will appeal to fans of genre properties such as Stranger Things or Something Is Killing The Children. This story leans into the terrifying, while also telling a story about death, second chances, and family. Intended for a mature audience, its strong themes about what it takes to keep a family together through troubling times should resonate with a variety of readers.

This is an idea we’ve been bouncing back and forth for years, and it’s one that we couldn’t let die. We love this idea, and we want to maintain ownership over it. The only way to do that is to take it direct-to-consumer, and by doing so, we are still in control of the art and the way the story is told and marketed. This is the first indie comics crowdfunder we’ve done, and we wanted to do it with the support of readers like you who believe in the project and in us and our abilities to tell this story.

Ever felt so low you weren’t sure you could keep going? Like the world was collapsing around you and just surviving until tomorrow was a monumental task? Have you ever felt like you were drowning?
Emil Parker is a brilliant engineer, a 1930s Oxford Scholar, and his latest creation is going to change the way we explore the ocean. A perpetual diving suit capable of sustaining someone underwater indefinitely, it’s nothing short of a miracle of modern technology. Emil pilots the suit in its first outing to the public and promises to stay underwater for a full day–but during the expedition, something grabs a hold of Emil and drags him to the bottom of the Ocean.
Alone and forsaken, Emil spends the next three years trying to get back to the surface battling the elements, sea monsters of legend, and his own inner demons. Meanwhile, on the surface, his best friend James Harrigan is on a wild goose chase trying to find Emil, presumed dead since the day he was dragged to the depths. It’s a harrowing story of survival, guilt, and redemption that reads like The Martian meets 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. With your help, we can create the most important book of our careers!
Depths: Book One is a 112-page graphic novel about grief, depression, and the strength it takes to carry on. It’s a story about overcoming impossible odds when even taking a single step seems overwhelming. It’s the story that made us want to make comics.

Explore the characters of Sidetown in a new original comic series inspired by music and film.

TALES FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN
B-Sides is an original comic book series, drawing influence from music, film and street culture.

Centered on a dive bar in counter-cultural Sidetown, B-Sides explores the lives of characters living their best, dysfunctional lives away from the mainstream and the bright lights of the glamorous side of town.

Volume 1 is packed with long and short form tales from the cast of B-Sides. Some of our residents are more famous than others… Keep your eyes peeled for real-life artists! Scan QR codes in the comic to access pop-up animated scenes.

And there, you’ll meet a friendly bunch of equally rare gems all living their best life and working hard to make that life even better.

They’re a curious bunch of misfits, dreamers, and schemers who look out for each other and look after each other.

At the center of it all is the B-Sides bar, the beating heart and soul of Sidetown, run by Gus, the barman, who lives in an old airstream in the parking lot. In front of the bar, on their bench, you’ll usually find Slippery Kev and his mate, Sketch – a Riff Rat. With their own speakeasy under the floorboards, The Riff Rats live among the other residents in their own, rat-sized world.

There’s a regular open mic night at the bar hosted by the slightly irregular Open Mike, who gets his name from being, well, open, too open… Next door is the vinyl record exchange, Sounds Good, run by the couple Sheena and Debs, who also run Sounds Good Radio from the back of the store.

On the other side of the bar is Bodhi’s Taco truck where you can get the best tacos in town, that is unless ‘surf’s up’, then Bodhi and his sous chef Nacho are nowhere to be seen.

Across the road is the Sideview Guesthouse, which was famous in the 60s as a musicians’ hangout and still attracts ‘name’ bands when they’re playing in LA. On one side of the Guesthouse is a recently developed office building which looks ideal for startups, on the other side is a rundown building ‘owned’ by the ever industrious Riff Rats.

Check out B-Sides, it’s a dusty, precious gem that’s ready to shine.

The Unthinkables #1-3

Turns out gettin’ supervillains together to save the world was a really bad idea. Oops. 18+ WTFery

Current Funding: $7,588
Funding Goal: $6,500
Days Left: 6

We told ya last time that getting supervillains to save the Earth is a stupid idea. But you f***ers can’t seem to get over that “high concept” (you’d have to be high to believe it), so here we are again with 62 new story pages that illustrate in even more detail why that s*** just doesn’t work.

No really. Suicide Squad, Peacemaker, Thunderbolts and Megamind totally bulls***ted you. Even The Dirty Dozen (because not all terrible ideas for heroes wear capes).

So we rounded up (almost) all of the “at large” f***ers on our list out in #1: RiotGrrl; Devilfish; the Anti-Freeze; Noddy Blinkins; White Devil II… oh and Fallout, whoever that is. The Air Force has had that thing locked in an 18 ton nuclear waste casket, so yeah… let’s peek in there and see if he’ll save us. Fer sure, dude. No wonder Bloody Mary gave us an “I’ll get back to you.”

MALICENT BLACK

Supernatural sci-fi from the father and son team responsible for SAM AND HIS TALKING GUN!

Current Funding: $4,514
Funding Goal: $4,000
Days Left: 5
Link: MALICENT BLACK
What’s folklore like on other planets? What creatures do aliens scoff at? Those are the things you call a specialist for. And once all of those specialists are dead, you call your last resort.

The Universe has never seen someone quite like Malicent, and I certainly don’t mean that as a compliment. If the Universe had a song for Malicent, it would make the song about the Grinch look like a love letter. People spit on the ground Malicent walks on, and it’s not without reason; her whole crew is dead, every single crew she’s ever had in fact, and it was completely, entirely, unequivocally, her fault. Each and every time.

But that doesn’t mean you know everything you need to know about Malicent. She doesn’t like losing people, losing friends, always being in that utterly damned situation where she has to make an impossible choice none of the chuckleheads who think they know her could ever imagine. She doesn’t like much about this job, really. It’s shit. It’s always going to be shit, she knows that by now. It’s why she doesn’t work with anybody anymore. You get enough people killed, you either stop letting them in or you’re a piece of shit.

What she does love? When she gets to hurt someone bad. When she gets to hurt something TERRIBLE, when she gets to really go full blood and guts and magic and full-on-cosmic-screaming. She gets this snarling smirk, because y’see, it’s not entirely altruistic, what she does. The byproduct of it is that people get helped, and yeah, somewhere in her is a thing she buried a long time ago that wants to help people. But the engine that drives her, she knows, is liking being the person that the dark, and the light, think about before they drift off to sleep every night. Being the thing that smiles through the flames and makes the one that set the match back up in that uniquely oh-god-oh-hell-what-have-I-done kind of way.

Malicent Black doesn’t hate the big bad things in the dark. She hates that she kind of understands them.

Malicent Black is a 32-page, full color comic created by Drew and Lee Ferguson. It’s everything we love about sci-fi and horror smashed together and stuffed into a screaming book (no, really), and it’s our dream comic. To top it off, we have an amazing cover by the one and only Gary Frank! We couldn’t be more excited about sharing this book with you … yes, YOU, the one on your phone. This is the first of many, many stories we have to tell in MALICENT’S world … a place where science and the supernatural combine, allowing us to play around in a universe where so much is possible … but maybe shouldn’t be.

You might remember us from our previous successful Kickstarter campaigns (5 already fulfilled) and we’re back to bring you more of the stories you love—and to make a historic imprint in the process.

“People yearn for something more than just another caped crusader fighting another inter-galactic battle. They want stories that mirror the challenges and complexities of their daily lives, characters they can relate to, and narratives that aren’t commandeered by profit-driven conglomerates trying to meet another quarterly revenue goal,” says Payhuan Shiao, founder of Immortal Studios.

This campaign isn’t just about funding the printing of comic books. We are both presenting an authentic, diverse, and grounded alternative to the superhero saturation and building an entirely new, multicultural mythology that reflects our times. It’s ambitious but, in the wake of unprecedented global challenges, it is entirely necessary. This is a campaign about deepening human connections and empowering new possibilities through inspiring, remarkable storytelling.

And we’re not just bringing you one, but four new issues of the stories you’ve already shown us that you love, building the foundation of this epic Storyverse even further and even stronger.

HELLFORGED is the story of a teenager named LIZ who is living in New York City with her father, the fabled wizard MERLIN, pretending to be normal people. Stranded on Earth after an accident transported Merlin and Liz to our world when she was a baby, Liz has grown up only knowing what Merlin has told her about their home- the kingdom of Camelot- and the benevolent King Arthur.

After a mysterious force brings Liz, Merlin, and Liz’s best friend CALVIN to the world of Camelot, Liz discovers that it’s actually a nightmarish hellscape overrun with terrifying beasts that serve a world-consuming primordial evil. This evil is an extra-dimensional being known as THE ALL-DARK, and he has possessed and corrupted King Arthur and Camelot beyond salvation. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the many lies that Merlin has told Liz in the hopes of keeping the truth of what she is from her…

Liz isn’t Merlin’s daughter– she’s not even really human. She’s the soul of EXCALIBUR given a physical form.

Excalibur was never the vanquisher of evil that the legends have led us to believe, but instead it’s the tool that The All-Dark uses to consume life and devour worlds. Now, with Merlin and Calvin’s help, Liz must not only find a way to save Camelot and its few survivors from annihilation, but also free Arthur from the darkness that has consumed him.

HELLFORGED will be a six issue series (roughly twenty-two pages per issue), which will compromise Volume One of the series. We have every intention of continuing HELLFORGED beyond the first six issues if success allows it!

As a major reinvention of Arthurian lore, HELLFORGED is perfectly suited for readers who know the world of Camelot -and- for readers who are fans of the fantasy genre but aren’t familiar with King Arthur and his lor

What if Jason Voorhees was the GOOD guy? The Littlest Hobo meets Friday the 13th meets Shakespeare’s Hamlet!

Funding Goal: $655
MASTIFF #1 marks the long-awaited comic book return of Big Tim Stiles, the writer of the multi-award-winning comic book series GORILLA MY DREAMS, with the first thrilling instalment of an all-new Supernatural Revenge Horror!

While Friday the 13th is accused of being a cheap cash-in on the success of Halloween, I’d argue that Jason has grown to be one of the (if not the) greatest of the slashers, for several different reasons. His iconic appearance, his personal standards in selecting his victims, the sympathy and scares that his silence breeds, and the fact that Jason was himself a victim with a sympathetic origin.

I have always wanted to create an iconic horror icon in the same vein as Jason Voorhees. Which brings us to MASTIFF
