A groundbreaking, genre-defying homage to ODB’s life and legacy – every bit as avant-garde as the maverick MC that inspired it.

Oni Press unleashes the raw, unfiltered world of hip-hop legend Ol’ Dirty Bastard in an electrifying new graphic novel anthology narrated by the icon himself. Experience the chaotic harmony in multiple interlocking stories that explore New York’s Five Boroughs as reimagined and distorted through the prism of high-octane kung-fu, dystopian science fiction, darkness-haunted horror, and lovelorn romance… Plus, debuting exclusively with this campaign: Limited-edition Super7® action figures featuring a never-before-seen ODB “Lyrical Ruckus” Variant; an exclusive “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” 7″ vinyl single featuring all-new cover art by Ronald Wimberly (Prince of Cats); boutique merch; and much more.

Created in partnership with Four Screens and officially authorized by the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard, this taunt and turbulent graphic novel collection features new stories, covers, and contributions from an epic cast every bit as sprawling as the city within: Troy-Jeffrey Allen (Chuck D’s Apocalypse 91: Revolution Never Sleeps), Paris Alleyne (Miles Morales: Spider-Man), David Brame (MediSIN), Dojo Gubser (Rot8ion), Jay Hero (Green Lantern), Maan House (Bloodborne), Mike Del Mundo (Avengers), Jason Pierre (CW’s In the Dark), Ike Reed & David Gorden (Rampage Jackson’s Big Brawl), Chris Robinson (Vince Staples’ Limbo Beach), Regine Sawyer (Dark Nights: Death Metal – The Last 52), Damion Scott (Batgirl), Felipe Sobreiro (“Weird Al” Yankovic’s The Illustrated Al), Ronald Wimberly (Prince of Cats), and introducing Jaxson Beckett-Willliams.

Tales from the Asylum is the continuation of what Committed Comics does best, providing quality story and art and combining new creators with seasoned veterans.
Committed Comics Editor in Chief – Tom Doherty. has been working in the comic book industry in some shape or form for over 25 years, working  with incredible comic book talents over the years and had a hand in bringing other people’s incredibly creative and original comics to life. This campaign is very near and dear to my heart, not only is it because it’s a book that is directly connected to the company, but also because I’m writing it.
That’s right the Editor in Chief and co-founder of the company is being creative. It’s been years since I had creative elements beyond providing art direction and editing on projects. The last time I had a strong presence in the creative process was our very first publication; Committed Comics Presents: Threads. Where I came up with the story concept and steered the amazing creative teams in the right direction for that project. Now almost 23 years later I’m back in the creative seat telling a story of our insane mascot.
