Bomb Scares #1
Tick-tock, tick-tock…It’s time to stop the clock!
Days Left: 12
This series is a simple one: Inspired by the notorious EC horror comics of the fifties and the Warren horror mags of the seventies, Bomb Scares was originallyally a horror anthology released through Kickstarter as a series of black and white 100-page volumes, and edited by Paul H Birch.
Bomb Scares is here to rock your mortal souls to the very bone with a crowded houseful of horror-chocked graphic narratives from the following amazing international talents such as:
Dead by Mel Smith, Clark Castillo, Birch & Alex Nino
Sailing in on the high seas, is this stark thriller of epic survival against the carnivorous desires of the undead; now risen and roaming the earth, as illustrated by a true living legend of the comics medium.
Amongst The Trees by Liam Sharp
Existentialism, alienation and indifference are all pondered in a tense and chilling vignette crafted by one of today’s leading comic book creators.
- Home Front: by John Erasmus
There’s nothing to be trifled at when a dinner party hosted by a serial killer goes horribly wrong in this hilarious soap-opera send-up of a saga
With the third volume appearing back in October 2021 it then seemed the perfect opportunity to take Bomb Scares in a different direction. The result is Bomb Scares #1: a relaunched, reformatted, more streamlined anthology package that will include both color and black and white strips with content intended to scare, intrigue, bemuse and repulse – and throw in a dash of unexpected pitch-black humour too

Lost Children of Andromeda: The Arrival
The awakening of humanity begins…just as the world starts to end
Days Left: 26
The year is 2040…Twelve years before the projected apocalypse. A team of scientists contracted by the military known as The Andromeda Project are tracking the arrival of an alien energy from another galaxy. Lead on that project are two rivals, Captain Nicolas Delemar and Professor Patrick Adams. No one knows how the energy will arrive and what damage it could do to the planet, so Patrick has worked diligently to create protection mechanisms at the projected site of the landing, Cumberland Falls, Kentucky.

In this story, we are plunged into the lingering aftermath of a severe thunderstorm. We feel a young boy’s angst and a protective parent’s uncertainty in lines like, “Storms aren’t meant to hurt us. That’s just Mother Nature telling us how she feels.” But the violence in the sky feels anything but natural. Something is coming that will change Earth forever. Could it be the beginning of the end?
It soon becomes clear that courage will be the only light that can lead Allister and his dad. And even that may not be enough to survive
Already a successful sci-fi book series, The Arrival is the first official comic book from the Lost Children of Andromeda universe. This story follows Allister Adams, the main character of the LCOA series, as we learn the origins of his abilities and the apocalypse. WITCHMAN: A New Superhero Comic Book
I’m an experienced comic book artist, writer and publisher. This is my new comic, WITCHMAN, the horror-themed superhero.
Star Noir: Book Two
A 1940’s detective teams up with a grey alien to stop a shapeshifter killing LAPD officers in Central Station.
L.A. Noire meets The X-Files. Star Noir is a 6-Part detective story following Homicide Detective Alan Miller and his grey alien partner Ellis Tate as they travel across 1940’s Los Angeles to find an elusive shapeshifter killing officers in Central Station.
It mixes the haunting sci-fi of The X-Files with the grit and tone of noir books like James Ellroy’s The Big Nowhere. It has the snappy dialogue of The Big Sleep, and depicts a stylized 1940’s Los Angeles as seen in movies like Chinatown and L.A. Confidential.

Summer’s End: Stories of Heartbreak
“Making a relationship work is hard… sometimes deadly”
Current Funding: $291
Funding Goal: $2,000
Days Left: 17
Link: Summer’s End: Stories of Heartbreak
Summer’s End is a double-feature comic combining two heartbreaking stories: Heard U Got Somebody, about a tentacled superhero, The Smear, who runs into his ex on a date and takes her man hostage to get his stuff back, and Unity of Vapors, a sci-fi war story on an alien planet, where 2 lovers, P’Yr and F’Zn, are polar opposites – soldiers of feuding armies, one made of fire and one of ice. They find their love in jeopardy when they are forced to fight to the death to stop a genocide.
Summer’s End is a package series inspired by classic romance comics and shojo manga. This 24-page manga-size book imbues the genre’s emotional highs and lows and cute, quirky humor paired with other, immersive genres such as superheroes and sci-fi, as well as gripping action sequences. To sweeten the deal, Summer’s End will feature a double cover, a painted piece by letterer John Jack and a quirky selfie-inspired one by series artist KVGIR.
As the title suggests, the book portrays heartbreak in two very different ways. Heard U Got Somebody explores the struggle of breakups through Marvel-style superhero and action manga tropes. In this way, they portray the inner conflict and pettiness people feel after a bad end to a relationship. Unity of Vapors uses the dilemma of “love vs family” famously portrayed by Romeo and Juliet to tell an anti-war story but through a queer lens. Will these two lovers throw aside their loyalties or destroy each other?

The Tomb of Baalberith V2
With a NOD to the EC horror titles from the 50’s
Current Funding: $2,112
Funding Goal: $5,000
Days Left: 22
Link: The Tomb of Baalberith V2
Mark McKenna here, you may know me from the 38+ years of comic creating and 1,000+ comics I’ve worked on for Marvel, DC, Image and Dark Horse. Six years ago, I launched an art studio called Virtual Inks Inc (VII) as a way to collaborate with up and coming comic book artists and writers to explore fun, new stories. The first product of VII was The Tomb of Baalberith, a collection of short horror stories centered around three terrifying monsters that wreak havoc in the name of their demon overlord, Baalberith. I came up with the idea originally as a homage to the old EC comics titles, Vault of Horror and Tales from the Crypt. Baalberith has developed some of its own unique roots stemming from those beloved horror stories. It’s now six years later and I’m collaborating with a whole new crew of talent to create The Tomb of Baalberith V2!
The Tomb of Baalberith V2 introduces some of the most vile horror creations that I’ve ever had the (un)fortunate displeasure to make acquaintances with. I’ve decided to reduce the length of the comic book from 48 to 32 glorious black & white pages, but they are as gruesome and eye-popping as ever!
