Sky Masters of the Space Force – The Complete Sunday Strips in Color

A historic first publication by Kirby Museum Press and is the first official crowdfunding campaign for a Jack Kirby book.

Current Funding: $40,862
Funding Goal: $10,000
Days Left: 19

The Sky Masters of the Space Force newspaper strip is one of the most fascinating and obscure works by comics legend Jack Kirby. The strip narrates, with a realistic approach, the adventures of Major Sky Masters during the early days of space exploration in the late 1950s, just as a new front opened in the Cold War between the U.S. and U.S.S.R.: a frenzied space race. Now fans and scholars can experience this lost piece of Kirby history as never before, with Sky Masters of the Space Force – The Complete Sunday Strips in Color.

Created and developed by Kirby with writer Dave Wood at the beginning of 1958 while Kirby was working for National (DC), the Sky Masters daily strip debuted on September 8 of that year. Five months later, on February 8, 1959, the color Sunday strips arrived featuring a totally independent storyline from the dailies.

Sky Masters features spectacular art from two of the comics industry’s leading lights of the era. Kirby and embellisher Wallace Wood were both at the peak of their careers, and brought the art of the strip to unprecedented levels. Compared to the Sky Masters dailies, the Sunday strips were the maximum expression of the team’s artistic prowess.

While the Sky Masters Sundays have seen print before, they’ve never been presented in their complete form or in color. Spanish designer Ferran Delgado, who compiled and produced the Eisner Award-nominated first edition of this book published in 2015, found all the best source material, including an extra 100 panels that were created to allow for the various formats of  Sunday newspaper sections. Some of these panels hadn’t been seen in any reprint editions. Delgado also featured the first re-printing of strip #52, which hadn’t been printed since its original publication in newspapers. Sky Masters of the Space Force – The Complete Sunday Strips in Color contains all 54 complete Sunday strips, including the extra panels, compiled in color, all painstakingly remastered in this deluxe volume

NO FUTURE

A Cyberpunk Graphic Novel by Corbeyran and Jef

Current Funding: $59,039
Funding Goal: $7,500
Days Left: 13
Link: NO FUTURE
Flying cars, robot butlers, and universal freedom for everyone to do as they please. A dream of the future, right? Not this future. The tipping point between Utopia and Dystopia is subjective and invisible, and civilization can’t help but blindly trample that line underfoot on a regular basis.  Far-left and far-right-leaning politics wrap completely around to the opposite ends of the spectrum, and the cycle of ideological struggle continues in a funhouse mirror reflection of itself.
Interstellar mega-corporations set the law through market manipulation and political influence, and the population is kept sedated through consumer comforts. But pockets of idealism still exist, buried in the shadows and filth of the lower streets, and all it takes is a spark to light a fire…
NO FUTURE is a highspeed cyberpunk vision of tomorrow written by prolific screenwriter CORBEYRAN and painted in vivid retro-nostalgic brushstrokes by fan-favorite illustrator JEF. This neo-noir blockbuster graphic novel recaptures the energy and aesthetic of classic sci-fi masters such as MOEBIUSBILALJUAN GIMENEZ, and LADRONN with a modern flair.

What if the trends that creators follow to help sell their comics were actually Dark Gods?

Would you pledge your soul to the Waifu Goddess, who lures NSFW fans in with cheeky covers? .Or would you fall into the traps of the eerily similar Death Goddess, who has fans of 90s comics in the palm of her hand.

This new comedy/horror from Pat Shand & Team Space Between is “This Is The End” meets the comics industry!

I Summoned Cthulhu to Fund My Kickstarter is a loving parody of all the trends in comics and on crowdfunding, poking fun at them all while also fully embracing them. It is a 48-page single issue. This is the final issue of the series, with #1 and #2 also available. #1 and #2 are both standard-sized issues, a total of 24-28 story pages, 32 pages with bonuses.

It follows parody versions of real-life Kickstarter creators like Pat Shand, Charlie Stickney, Anthony Stokes, Chris Moses, Richard Fairgray, Arman Nasim, Russell Nohelty, Travis Gibb, and more as they make blood sacrifices to Dark Gods in order to become successful in the comics industry.

30TH ANNIVERSARY DISNEY GARGOYLES COLLECTIONS ARE HERE!

Link: 30TH ANNIVERSARY DISNEY GARGOYLES COLLECTIONS
Disney’s beloved and revered series about Gargoyles that awaken in modern times is being remastered and repackaged into three beautiful graphic novel collections for fans and collectors. Featuring the work of Greg Weisman and a host of amazing artists and writers, these stories are long out of print and will be collected into wonderful editions perfect for display on your bookshelf from softcover to hardcover to incredible oversized premium limited editions – the perfect choice is there for all collectors to enjoy.

In 1991 Greg Weisman and a team of animators at Walt Disney Television began developing a new show called GARGOYLES. It was inspired by Disney’s Adventures of the Gummi Bears and started as a comedy-based adventure series about multi-colored gargoyles that awoke in the late 20th Century to battle a comic book villain. Everyone was very enthusiastic about the series but it didn’t make the cut of new programming being approved. That didn’t stop the creators who went back to the drawing board and added wonderful layers to the concept including new characters to the story. After much back and forth the series was approved and two seasons of this incredible unique series was created.

Now over 30 years later we have the incredible honor of not only creating new comics with Greg, but we are thrilled to present this beautiful collectors’ edition Classic Gargoyle Omnibus collecting the 11-issue comic book run originally published by Marvel Comics in 1995.

She has no memory of her past, and no idea why she now has demon wings that she needs to hide from society. Unfortunately, her mother, Yunika, is the only one with all the answers and she hasn’t been terribly helpful. Instead of giving her daughter straight answers and explaining that Khajad will be killed on sight if anyone sees her wings, Yunika lies and makes excuses in order to avoid the subject entirely.

Yunika is more focused on important things like fleeing the past as far as possible, trying to pretend like nothing weird happened and trying to have a normal life.

But c’mon, do you think their lives will ever be normal???

  • Readers who are looking for a new, interesting take on the fantasy genre that break away from Tolkien-esque and medieval European molds.
  • Readers who want queer character representation that doesn’t revolve around queerness being a character’s singular personality type.
  • Readers who want a story with tons of worldbuilding, mythology, history and lore to get lost in (think expansive worlds like Game of Thrones, the Avatar Series or Elder Scrolls series).
  • Readers who are into mythology (Greek/Roman, Egyptian, Norse, etc) where gods regularly interact with mortals and ruin everything.
  • Readers who are looking for a unique, pretty art style depicting a unique, pretty world.

This fun, yet sometimes horrific, comic includes two action packed tales of dinosaurs encountering gunslingers of the american wild west of the 1800’s and the carnage that ensues following this prehistoric clash of genres.

By why? I hear you ask.

Well it all goes back to the first time I ever saw a movie at the tender age of 3.

I was sitting with my Dad on a 1970’s Saturday afternoon and the classic dinosaur movie The Valley of Gwangi came onto the TV.
