Roses are red…

Blood is too.

And the undead are even hungrier

In Zombie Date Night 2!

From the clearly rotted mind of Steve Urena (Slow Pokes 1&2, Zombie Date Night, X-Maschina, Foul Mouth) comes the sequel to the critically acclaimed zombie romance comedy, Zombie Date Night!

Still recovering from the awkwardness of their first Zombie Date Night, main characters Jack and Ginger have reached the scariest place to be…the friend zone.

When their survival group realizes they’re running out of food, the enthusiastic and outgoing Ginger leads the charge with a very reluctant Jack to find sustenance before the zombaes (zombies who can only survive with a mate) eat them first. Will the second date be better than the first or will this situationship be food for the undead?

Returning for the sequel is the original team behind the first Zombie Date Night. Incredible art drawn by Sergi Domènech. Amazing Colors by Josh Jensen. Eye-catching lettering by Anthony Rella and editing by the wonderfully talented Allegra Calderaro. This 24-page, hilarious action-packed comic has got everything: laughs, zombies, romance and, of course, over-the-top violence!

Superguy #1

When Superguy is too busy napping, it’s up to his faithful sidekick Robotguy to save the day in this 28-page action-comedy!

Current Funding: $6,041
Funding Goal: $2,000
Days Left: 15
Link: Superguy #1

Superguy is a 28-page action-comedy comic book written by Anthony Iannaccio and drawn/lettered by Joey Murphy.

In the original 10-page Superguy one-shot, which every backer will receive a FREE digital copy of, we introduced the lazy, narcissistic hero Superguy and his once enemy, now turned (unappreciated) sidekick, Robotguy. In this first full-length, 28 page action-packed issue, Robotguy is eager to prove himself as a bonafied hero but Superguy doesn’t appreciate the spotlight being taken away from him…

We think comedy is sorely lacking in comic books these days and our goal is to make you laugh along with the adventures of Superguy and Robotguy. This is the first full-length comic and Kickstarter campaign from both myself and artist Joey Murphy, so we wanted to pack as much into this comic as possible. We have a planned four issue arc with issue #2 already written and we hope after successfully funding this project, we can bring you even more Superguy in the future.

I have full confidence this project will get funded and have a large social media following across all platforms with some incredibly supportive followers, including many in the comic book industry, who are ready and eager to help fund this comic!

Clover Press is thrilled to launch our newest line of high-end boutique art books with the DC Art of… series, and it all begins with the premier volume, The DC Art of Jorge Jiménez!

Jorge Jiménez burst onto the pages of American comics in 2011 and his talent immediately caught readers’ attention. His dynamic—almost frenetic—linework and manga-inspired designs put him in a category all his own, and he quickly climbed the ranks to headline some of DC Comics’ core series, including SupermanJustice League, and Super Sons, working with the likes of Peter J. Tomasi and Scott Snyder. He’s currently completing his greatest accomplishment yet—a five-year run on the company’s flagship series Batman with superstar writers James Tynion IV and Chip Zdarsky.

Jorge lives in Spain, where, as a child, his parents encouraged his passion for art. But the strictures of formal art education robbed him of his enthusiasm and turned him to other pursuits. It would be nearly ten years before he rediscovered the joy for drawing he’d felt as a child.

But, lucky for all of us, he came back with more passion than ever, and now his career in comics seems to consist of one success after another. Jorge’s brought his unique style to DC’s biggest characters across multiple universes: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Robin, the Joker, Lex Luthor, and more, starting in series like Smallville: Season ElevenEarth 2, and Arkham Unhinged. For the major titles Super Sons and Batman, he’s co-created and designed new characters Punchline, Failsafe, Ghostmaker, and Crush, among others, while developing iconic new looks for fan-favorites like the Scarecrow, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy.

The Death of Bobby Hart – a true crime story

Funding Goal: $3,150
Days Left: 21

Inspired by a true story, The Death of Bobby Hart is a neo-noir crime thriller about the murder of pulp writer Bobby Hart, the undisputed king of 1970s “street literature” books such as Pimp Wars and Confessions of a Junkie. With more than a dozen books to his name, Bobby Hart is working on the most recent installment in his popular GHETTO AVENGER series when he and his pregnant wife are brutally gunned down in their home. But who killed Bobby and why? And what do his books–gritty, hard-boiled crime thrillers set in the world of gangsters, dope dealers, pimps, and ghetto vigilantes–have to do with his murder?

Equal parts noir and blaxploitation, The Death of Bobby Hart is an examination of the final weeks in the life of an author overcoming drug addiction, an exploration of the creative process, and a glimpse at the blurred line that separates fact from fiction. Inter-cut throughout the main story are chapters from Bobby Hart’s latest novel, The Ghetto Avenger’s Last Stand. Written by David F. Walker, co-creator of Bitter Root and Naomi, The Death of Bobby Hart is a 96-page book that includes…

Below are the first six pages of The Death of Bobby Hart (art by Dietrich O. Smith, colors by Chris Sotomayor),including the first page of The Ghetto Avenger’s Last Stand (art by Craig Johnson II).

Made in Delco – A Comic Anthology

Delco: 1) An abbreviation for Delaware County, PA. 2) An attitude and way of life particular to the residents of said county.

Current Funding: $2,230
Funding Goal: $ 2,000
Days Left: 25
Link: Made in Delco – A Comic Anthology

Made in Delco is a 60 page comic anthology of 10 stories I’ve written, spanning multiple genres and featuring stories that have been published in incredible anthologies like Bi Visibility and From the Static, as well as stories that have yet to see print. Although these stories have wildly different settings, I think they embody the spirit and attitude of Delco. I was tired of waiting for the right anthology to come along to submit these comics to, so I thought I’d put together my own.

My journey writing comics started with LGBTQ RPG published in the Bi Visibility Anthology by Lifeline Comics. Brought to life by the incredibly talented Beck Kubrick and lettered by the incomparable Taylor Esposito. I’ve heard it said so many times, but it really is true, as a comic writer there’s nothing like the first time you see the art for a story you’ve written.

For this issue, we’ve collaborated with artists from Germany, the USA and the UK, each bringing their unique perspective to historical and fantasy themes. As always, Silence is a wordless comic – action, image, and intuition are the only tools we use to convey the story.

Our goal with this series is to break down language barriers, so everyone can enjoy the story, regardless of the language they speak. Our characters are queer, and their narratives are filled with emotions that don’t need words to be understood.

In this issue, we travel through historical and fantastical worlds, where queer heroes embark on thrilling adventures and face unique challenges, no matter the era or place they inhabit.

Join us on this journey. Every contribution matters and helps us create indie comics that are open to experimentation and the joy of storytelling. Your support will help us publish this unique issue—one that delivers unforgettable experiences and celebrates queer culture in comics.

Funding Goal: $1,000
Days Left: 3
Link: STILL. NOT DEAD: Selected Pieces from 33 Years of Comics

33-YEARS!
On April 8th 1992 I drew my first comic book. I’d seen them on TV, but never in person, so I thought they were a medium of a bygone era. I thought if I made them I would be the only person on Earth doing it and I would make millions of dollars.

Like all kids, I was dumb.

But, through blackmail and crime, my first comic got published. I sold 200 copies at a school athletics event (where I was obviously not taking part) and bought a butt-load of Power Rangers toys.

33-years later, I have 311 published books, ranging from picture books to pornography and everything in between. To celebrate this anniversary (and my impending 40th birthday) I’m putting out an extremely limited sketchbook.

This book will contain a selection of pieces from long forgotten projects, unpublished books, and relics from my life on the other side of the world.

A mix of full color and black and white illustrations, including some really old stuff that no-one outside of my family has ever seen.
