Marvel reveals a key issue in the ongoing saga of Spider-Boy will be Edge of Spider-Verse #3, which is slated for release on June 21. The issue will dive into the character’s secret origin (to borrow a term from the distinguished competition) and reveal the sidekick’s connections to Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The issue will feature a main cover from Patrick Brown, with Humberto Ramos providing a variant cover that can be seen below.
The story comes from creators Dan Slott and Ramos after the creation of Spider-Boy in the ‘End of the Spider-Verse’ story from Slott and Mark Bagley’s Spider-Man title. Spider-Boy was retconned to having always existed in the main universe and swears he isn’t from the Spider-Verse, but none of the other Spider-people in that issue have any memory of the character.
“The all-new, all-different Spider-Boy of the 616: He’s got strange new spider-powers, secret ties to dark corners of Spider-Man lore, and a story that’s all his own… that is right about to begin!” Slott promises.
Edge of Spider-Verse #3 arrives on shelves and digital platforms on June 21, 2023 from Marvel Comics.
