Liefeld On Board for 2019 X-Men Crossover

According to Movieweb.com, co-creator of Cable and Deadpool, Rob Liefeld, has been approached by Marvel Comics to orchestrate a giant X-Crossover, coming in 2019.

“It’s awesome…Marvel called me up last Thanksgiving and said, ‘We want you to do a big story.’ I said well, let’s see if they’ll go for this, and I tried to do something no one has done before. So I gave them this pretty aggressive proposal for an event and I can’t say what it is, I can’t say what it involves, got a lot of new stuff,” said Liefeld at the Wizard World convention in Austin, TX.

No other details have been released, but the artist has a long history with X-related comics prior to his role in founding Image Comics and beyond. Dominantly, his place in X-lore is cemented by New Mutants #87 and New Mutants #98, which introduced Cable and Deadpool respectively (penned by Lousie Simonson and Fabian Nicieza).
Liefeld, often panned by critics and fans alike, has left an indelible mark on the X-Men mythos, so a major crossover return to the characters is certainly a development worth Watching.
