Lucasfilm sources have characterized the recent rumors circulating regarding future Star Wars films being on hold as “inaccurate”, confirming that multiple films are still being developed.
Clarifying recent rumors, Lucasfilm has told ABC that there are still multiple Star Wars films currently being developed, some of which have not been officially announced. This is in addition to the new trilogy by The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and unnamed projects from Game of Thrones producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.
Star Wars Episode IX from J.J. Abrams remains on track to release in theaters in December 2019, as well as Dave Filoni’s new Star Wars: Resistance animated series set to release this fall!
Lucasfilm did not give any other new updates regarding the projects being developed, but stay tuned for more information as it releases!
