After the launch X-Men #1 yesterday, Marvel unveiled a trailer teasing the future of the series along with the other From the Ashes titles. X-Men #1 is written by Jed MacKay with pencils by Ryan Stegman, inks by J.P. Mayer, colors by Marte Gracia, and lettering by VC’s Clayton Cowles and sees Cyclopes leading a team that’s based out of an old sentinel factory in Alaska. Cyclopes, along with Beast, Psylocke, Magik, Kid Omega, Temper, Juggernaut, and Magneto are on the path of a more radical fight against the prejudices of humanity and dealing with the remainder of Orchis.
In a recent interview with IGN, MacKay spoke about the relaunch, stating:
“This is very much a series about rebuilding. It’s a series about finding your place in a world that you thought you’d left behind, and essentially taking the wreckage of something and trying to build something new from it, which we see sort of thematically and also quite literally. I mean, the X-Men are flying around in the Marauder, too. They’re living in a Sentinel factory that they have salvaged – a former Orchis facility that they now live in. So this sort of scavenging and repurposing of what came before in order to construct a place for oneself in the world is very much a part of what our X-Men book is about.”
In the trailer, which can be seen below, Marvel hints at what is to come, including a Magneto back in his typical costume, joining the fight. Alongside the trailer, Marvel also shared a checklist for the upcoming From the Ashes titles.
