The art pieces gave Anindito a chance to design new costumes inspired by Punisher’s classic costume, replacing the iconic skull with emblems reflecting the individual heroes.
Anindito shared in a Marvel press release:
“I was really excited and honored when Marvel asked me to do the HELL’S KITCHEN cover program!It’s such a cool chance to dive deeper into the characters and give them a darker vibe, designing a gritty look and adding a badass tactical goth-rocker twist.
These characters are already iconic, so it’s definitely a challenge, but also really fun to do. I drew inspirations from re-reading the Punisher MAX series and re-watching the ’98 Blade movie. Let’s just say these HELL’S KITCHEN versions are the last ones you’d want to mess with!“
