Marvel revealed that it is issuing second prints of the first five Blood Hunt: Red Band issues. The mature rated, polybag sealed single issues offered extended action sequences and more carnage. These issues exist only in physical form, with no digital reproduction and feature bloody covers illustrated by series artist Pepe Larraz. The reprint covers will also feature Larraz’s artwork when they flow onto shelves in August.
In the press release, Larraz discussed the appeal of the Red Band issue, stating:
“The Red Band pages are really interesting to me. They allow me to convey the dark, violent, blood tone of this particular story and flex new muscles that I don’t usually get to use in a superhero comic. And I’m not going to lie, they’re so fun!”
Blood Hunt follows the Marvel Universe banning together to battle the overwhelming vampire forces under the direction of Blade. The Avengers are scattered, elder gods have risen and fallen, and even the best of earth’s mightiest heroes have succumbed to the thrall of the nightstalkers. The series is set to conclude in August, with a showdown between the cosmic level vampire threat and some of Marvel’s biggest powerhouses.
Larraz’s covers for the second printings can be seen below.
