Marvel reveals that more key players of the Ultimate Universe will return for the upcoming Ultimate Invasion series. Artist Sara Pichelli will provide a variant cover for Ultimate Invasion #1 featuring Miles Morales’s Spider-Man, who she helped to create in Ultimate Fallout #4. Pichelli provided art for Ultimate Spider-Man after Mark Bagley left the title, and would return once Miles took over the series.
The Ultimate Universe, and its seeming destruction at the end of Secret Wars, serves as the catalyst for Ultimate Invasion. Writer Jonathan Hickman and artist Bryan Hitch unfold The Maker’s (evil, Ultimate Mr. Fantastic) attempts to restore the universe, tying together threads from books like New Avengers, Venom, and more. It will fall to a reformed Illuminati team to try and stop the villain’s attempt and save Miles from being caught in the machinations.
