Communication and interaction between the two Tokyos were impossible, and years passed. One day, a young girl perceives that Old Tokyo will fall back down to the ground, and she sets out on the perilous path from Old Tokyo to New Tokyo to save the citizens from the impending crisis.
A Certain Magical Index, Trinity Seven, and Azumanga Daioh director Hiroshi Nishikori is directing the film which is prequel story to the main events of the first season.
The story follows Kanata, a young orphan who is haunted by unidentified beings that begin to appear. Saved by a mysterious blue-haired girl called Sora, she explains to Kanata that he is destined to save the world, setting the stage for additional characters to join him on his quest as the savior of man.
