Magia Day 2018, an event marking the first anniversary of the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Gaiden) smartphone role-playing game, announced that a television anime adaptation of the game has been green-lit for next year on Saturday. The event presented a teaser promotional video and a teaser visual.
The tagline on the visual is the same as the game: “A meeting between the girls weaves a new story.”
The new character Iroha Tamaki (voiced by Momo Asakura) becomes a magical girl with a wish to save her sister from illness. Madoka Kaname (again voiced by Aoi Y?ki) also arrives in Kamihama to search for her missing friend Homura.
The debut of the new series has yet to be announced as the anime is in the initial stages of production.
