The internet has spoken and Marvel comics take home five Webby awards in 2019
This week marks the 23rd Annual Webby Awards with Marvel comics walking away with five awards for their commitment to bringing excellence to the internet. Marvel was acknowledged in the web, podcast, and apps categories which have over 13.000 entries to be voted on. MARVEL truly understands the importance of these awards when they said: “We cannot thank the True Believers out there for voting for us, the prestigious Academy, as well as all the teams behind each of these wins!”
Wolverine: The Long Night, our first scripted podcast, was recognized by the Academy with a 2019 Webby Award for Best Original Music / Sound Design, Podcast & Digital Audio.
Marvel.com, your official source for all things Marvel, nabbed the 2019 Webby People’s Voice Award for Website- Entertainment.
Marvel Unlimited, our app that gives readers access to over 25,000 digital comics to read when and where you want, won the 2019 Webby People’s Voice Award for App, Mobile, and Voice-Entertainment.
Marvel would also like to show love to their games partners for their 2019 Webby People’s Voice Award for their branded-entertainment videos! FoxNext Games and their agency won Video – Games for MARVEL Strike Force, while the LEGO group, WB Games, and their studio won Video – Animation for The Gauntlet – LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – Mini Movie.
Established in 1996 during the Web’s infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS)—a 2000+ member judging body. The Academy is comprised of Executive Members—leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities—and Associate Members who are former Webby Winners, Nominees, and other Internet professionals. Taking place on Monday, May 13, the 23rd Annual Webby Awards ceremony will be hosted by Jenny Slate and we can all follow at #Webbys to watch the show.
