Image announces that it will be releasing an encore reprint of the Bigfoot chapter of the hit series The Department of Truth. The reprinting, titled Wild Fiction Specials, collects issue #10 (which you can read Comic Watch’s review of here) and #11 of the series written by James Tynion IV, with art from Martin Simmonds, and letters by Aditya Bidikar. The special is slated for a release date of December 21, and tells a story of pop culture’s most recognized cryptids, Bigfoot.
“It’s impossible to pick a favorite story from the first few years of The Department of Truth, but the one that has brought the most people to my table at convention after convention is ‘A Hunter’s Story’, which ran over two issues in our second arc,” said Tynion IV. “We’ve spent a lot of time talking about what might be the perfect bite-sized morsel of DOT to help comic shops introduce new readers to our series, and we can think of no better option as we start the drumbeat to The Department of Truth #25.”
The series follows Cole Turner, a man who’s spent his life studying conspiracy theories, as he learns that they’re all real, and there’s an organization dedicated to covering up their existence. Through the course of 21 issues and counting, the series has grappled with the likes of Bigfoot, America’s secret history and even Scientology.
The Department Of Truth: Wild Fictions Special (Diamond Code SEP228116) will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, December 21. The Department Of Truth is also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.
