News Watch: Black Lightning Season 2, More of that Pierce Family Lovin'

New villains and love interest are in store for us fans of DC most electrifying family on season 2 of Black Lightning.

Season 2 of the CW hit show Black Lightning has already started filming in Atlanta Georgia and theirs plenty of new news (say that three times fast) about it to share. Thanks to a recent report from the “ThatHashTagShow.com” this new season will be expanding with many new faces and classic characters straight from DC comics.

This upcoming season will introduce “Perenna”, who’s been outlined as an open ethnicity role in her 40s or 50s. A telepathic metahuman, “Perenna” is said to be a therapist who will help Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain) understand and come to terms with her powers. “Perenna” story will be reportedly center around Jennifer’s story throughout the season.

The characters “Zlovac”, will be depicted as a Caucasian man in his 30s who will be teaming up with last seasons big bad Tobias Whale. Coming in as a real estate developer, “Zlovac” is said not to be afraid to get violent when it comes to payback. “Zlovac” origins begin somewhere in Eastern Europe and has a lot of experiences as career criminal as well as being slick within business. Whereas “Major Lowry,” who will be replacing Jefferson as the principal of Garfield High is a smart and brave man in his 30s-50s who is more than capable of handling his new role.

Next up is “Dr. Jace”, who is most likely Helga Race a villain straight from DC comics. “Dr. Jace” is a 40-something Caucasian woman who is incredibly smart and works as a computational chemist. Our family heroes are gonna have to watch out for this highly manipulative baddie who may or may not be a sociopath.

And as for the lovin’ Annisa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) will be getting a new romantic interest in the form of “Zoe B,” a social media savvy young woman said to be “filled with confidence and edge.” So your guess is as good as mine on where that leaves Grace Choi in this story. The second season of the CW hit show Black Lightning begins airing on Tuesday, October 9 at 9/8c.
