BOOM! Studios announced that one of their upcoming releases will be JIM HENSON’S THE STORYTELLER: TRICKSTERS, a four-issue series based on the Emmy Award-winning classic television show, Jim Henson’s The Storyteller. This installment of the series will tell several extraordinary folk tales of legendary tricksters from the four corners of the world
Each issue of the series will feature different creative teams, each tell stories about their favorite tricksters of legend. According to a press release by BOOM, the following creative teams will be contributing to the series:
- Issue #1: Anansi – Writer Jonathan Rivera (Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye), artist Jade Zhang, and letterer Jim Campbell, will feature the most famous trickster of all.
- Issue #2: Eshu – Written by New York Times bestselling YA author Jordan Ifueko (Raybearer) and illustrated by rising star artist Erin Kubo, featuries a teen Yoruba village girl who matches wits against the great god of mischief.
- Issue #3: Reynard – written by poet and Hugo Award-winning author Amal El-Mohtar (This is How You Lose the Time War) and illustrated by cartoonist Isa Hanssen, spin the tale of the legendary fox and his scheme to get rich quick.
- Issue 4: Loki and Thor – The fourth and final issue by cartoonist Robin Kaplan (The City on the Other Side) and illustrator and comics artist A.L. Kaplan features the two gods as they crash the wedding of the century!
Every issue of JIM HENSON’S THE STORYTELLER: TRICKSTERS will feature main cover art by artist Peach Momoko (Power Rangers) and variant cover art by artist Dani Pendergast (NPR).
JIM HENSON’S THE STORYTELLER: TRICKSTERS #1 goes on sale March 17, 2021 at local comic book shops or at the BOOM! Studios webstore. Digital copies can be purchased from content providers, including comiXology, iBooks, Google Play, and Madefire.
