Despite facing a brutal string of #MeToo accusations, Millennium Films has decided to bring on director Bryan Singer to spearhead their “female-empowered’ film remake of the popular comic book series, Red Sonja.
According to a knowledgeable inside source at The Hollywood Reporter, Singer is apparently negotiating a payday of up to $10 million for his involvement with the film, a number that is truly surprising given that there isn’t much competition for his services in the current market.
The director most recently made headlines for effectively being thrown off of 20th Century Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody biopic film for completely disappearing during production. He was still dealing with the prolific allegations of sexual assault against him during this time as well.
In a time where Hollywood appears to be shifting towards women-driven properties spearheaded by women creatives, the decision to bring on Bryan Singer for Red Sonja is an interesting one. Stay tuned for more information on this developing story!
