“Reborn” the sci-fi fantasy story from Mark Millar is on its way to become a movie
Hot off the success of Bird Box, which has been seen by over 80 million households, Sandra Bullock and Netflix have reunited to bring to life Mark Millars 2016 comic “Reborn.” Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock will produce with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon for Vertigo Entertainment while Mark Millar and Greg Capullo will be executive producers and Samantha Nisenboim will come on as co-producer. Chris Mckay director of “The Lego Batman Movie” has signed on to direct the movie whereas it is still unclear if Bullock will be cast in the movie.
“Reborn” written by Mark Millar and drawn by Greg Capullo is a sci-fi fantasy series that begs the question where do you go when you die? Bonnie Black an 80-year-old woman finds out when she dies in a Manhattan hospital only to find herself reborn in the afterlife world of Adystria, where good and evil are waging an eternal war amid dragons. She then reunites with her long-dead father and sets off on a quest to find her late husband.
In 2017 Netflix acquired the rights to Mark Millar’s comic book publishing firm Millarworld in a move to capitalize on the ever-growing viewers of comic book franchises. Apparently not wanting to waste any time “Reborn” will be the first of a slew of Millarworld-inspired TV series and movies on Netflix.
