NEWS WATCH: Cast set for Batman: The Long Halloween Pt. 1!

Voice actors have been cast for DC Films animated division of Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s 13 issue 1996-97 cult classic story, ’Batman: The Long Halloween’, including Hollywood heavyweights like late actor Naya Rivera, and Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles.

Ackles will be leading the ensemble cast as Batman/Bruce Wayne, while Rivera will be Catwoman/Selina Kyle. This isn’t Ackles first visit to Gotham though, as he previously voiced Jason Todd/Robin II in the animated film, ’Batman: Under the Red Hood’, written and adapted by Judd Winick.

The all star cast also includes Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Billy Burke as Jim Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid as Alberto, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, and Alistair Duncan as Alfred. Other voice acting was performed by Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray and Jim Pirri, but their roles have not been disclosed at this time.

Chris Palmer and screenwriter Tim Sheridan of Superman: Man of Tomorrow fame, return to write and direct this two part animated flick, with Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau producing it. Sam Register and Michael Ulsan are set to executive produce.

The Long Halloween, by Loeb and Sale, set during the early part of Batman’s career, is a story surrounding Batman, Gordon, Dent, and serial killer, Holiday, who kills on holidays once a month, was influential in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, and is rumored to be a huge inspiration for Matt Reeves’ upcoming Batman flick, starring Robert Pattinson and Zoe Kravitz.
