Little is known about the potential Super Pets animated film, but it now has a writer and director in Jared Stern of The LEGO Batman Movie fame.
According to a report from Collider, Warner Bros. studios, the parent company of DC Comics, has hired Jared Stern to write and direct an animated film featuring the lovable animal companions of the DC stable of superheroes.
DC Comics has a long history of Super Pets in canon, stretching back to the early 1960s. Notable among these myriads of pets are Krypto the Superdog, Streaky the Supercat, Comet the Superhorse, and Beppo the Supermonkey. A number of other super pets were also recently featured in the Super Sons Annual #1 from last year.
There are currently no other details regarding animation style or release format, but be sure that we here at Comic Watch will stay vigilant in our posts!
