So long Alec, it was nice knowing you. Announced earlier today from DC Universe, Swamp Thing has been cancelled after just one season. The news comes after just one aired episode of the show’s life.
The series, which premiered on May 31, is based on executive producer James Wan’s DC Comics creation.
It seems that DC Universe is just one entity that is being reevaluated after the acquisition of AT&T from Time Warner. Time Warner has put an emphasis on the launch of a new streaming platform. There have been questions circulating about how DC Universe streaming service fits into those plans.
There is chatter, that new leadership of Warner Media was not particularly high on Swamp Thing whose order was reduced from 13 to 10 episodes in April.
Swamp Thing was the third live-action series to launch on DC Universe, following Titans, which has been renewed for a second season, and Doom Patrol, which is awaiting word
