NEWS WATCH: DC Zoom & Kirk Scroggs Team-Up To Tell The Tale Of Swamp Kid!

Straight from DC headquarters in Burbank comes some exciting news for our young readers. Announced earlier this week, Kirk Scroggs (Snoop Troop) has penned DC Zoom’s latest middle-grade graphic novel: The Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid. A coming of age middle school tale of a half kid, half swamp creature. And you thought you had problems! You can check out the press release and trailer below.

WARNING! Unless Russell Weinwright (a.k.a. Swamp Kid) has given you permission to access his personal journal, do not read any further! This trailer is strictly off-limits!

Okay, if you’re still there, here’s what we can share. On October 1, DC’s newest middle-grade graphic novel, THE SECRET SPIRAL OF SWAMP KID, will be available in comic shops and book stores nationwide. Today, DC is giving fans a sneak peek into Swamp Kid’s journal with a brand-new trailer! Featuring middle schooler Russell Weinwright, an excessive doodler, and his best friends Charlotte and Preston, this swampy journal follows Russell’s hilarious journey as Swamp Kid.

Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid

In THE SECRET SPIRAL OF SWAMP KID, Russell details, in both humorous text and green-tinted illustrations (complete with ketchup stains!), what it’s like to be different, to be comfortable in his own skin (no matter how slimy), to discover his true talents, to avoid the intense stare of his suspicious science teacher, and to find humor in the everyday weird.
