As reported by THR, Diamond Comics Distributors has recently informed publishers that it will no longer be accepting new products at its warehouses for shipping.
Diamond Comics Distributors are currently the exclusive distributor for major publishers in the industry such as Marvel Entertainment, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Image and more. They are also the world’s largest distributor of English-language comics and graphic novels. This is the latest move in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic for the industry, with many publishers including BOOM!, IDW and more taking steps to ease the strain put on comic shops everywhere with initiatives like returnability and even reductions in publishing lineups.
Although there has been no confirmed time frame for how long Diamond Comics Distributors will be refusing new products, this is a rapidly developing situation.
