Dynamite Entertainment has announced the new comic series Death to the Army of Darkness by Ryan Parrott (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Jacob Edgar (Red Sonja) according to the website Bloody Disgusting.
The story, which takes place six months after the events of Sam Raimi’s horror-comedy trilogy, is set to introduce “Team Ash.”
The solicit for the first issue reads:
“It’s been six months since the events of the Army of Darkness film…Ash is just trying to settle down and get back to his groovy ways. But dammit, Deadite-possessed strangers keep attacking him at every turn. Why is evil following everywhere he turns, and what happens when an awful splinter spell causes Ash to become…Team Ash?”!
The all-new series introduces “Team Ash” which will include a female Ash, Ashley Williams, the personification of Ash’s feminine side, a canine Ash, aka Doggie Ash, the cynical and morose Skeleton Ash, and Ash’s now sentient chainsaw.
“Together, they must travel through time to Ancient Egypt and prevent the Necronomicon from ever being written in the first place. Along the way, can Ash solve his split personality predicament – and how would the others feel about that? Could one of the party members be hiding something? Fans will just have to read to find out!”
Issue #1 hits stands February 19, followed by issue#2 on March 11 and issue #3 on April 15.
