Netflix has doubled down on the video game goodness with a Devil My Cry series from the director of Castlevania.
Sorry kids but The Legend of Zelda won’t be coming to Netflix, at least not anytime soon. Rumors of a new video game-based animated series have been buzzing around since the release of the second season of Castlevania. That was the case until the director of Castlevania the series Adi Shankar announced on Twitter that he’s currently moving to work on a new Devil May Cry series.
Shankar gave a little bit more on the show in an interview with IGN, where he said: “ Devil May Cry will join Castlevania in what we’re now calling the bootleg multiverse..” Uh-oh, now I know what we are all thinking that since Castlevania is owned by Konami and Capcom owns Devil May Cry this could get real messy real quick. But if we can get Dante, Belmont, Alucard, and Dracula all fighting in one episode it might be worth the licensing headache.
And that’s all there is, for now, no word on the story or when production will start on the series but in the meantime Devil May Cry 5 is slated for release on March 8, 2019, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platform.
