NEWS WATCH: From Podcast to Comics “Voyage to the Stars” is a Fun Trip

IDW is publishing a four-issue comic of “Voyage to the Stars”

The very popular and successful science fiction comedy podcast Voyage to the Stars is making the journey to comic books. Thanks to IDW publishing who will be putting out a four-issue series of the podcast Voyage the the Stars, according to an article in The Hollywood Reporter. This new four-issue comic will have James Asmus (Quantum & Woody) and Connie Daidone (Tainted Love) helming the book. To be released later this year the first issue of the new series will have multiple covers available. Two of the cover will be by Freddie E. Williams II which includes a special retailer incentive ink wash cover and one by Connie Daidone.

Voyage to the Stars is created by Ryan Copple and MWN Universe and follows a crew that has managed to survive the destruction of Earth only to end up faced with an evil out to destroy the rest of the universe. The podcast features the voice talents of Colton Dunn (Superstore’s), comedian Janet Varney and actress Felicia Day (Supernatural)

“It has been such a wild ride experiencing Voyage to the Stars‘ evolution and development into other mediums, such as comic books.” and “The world we built is meant to be experienced in many different ways, allowing fans everywhere to engage with these stories however they want. We can’t wait for people to check out the new stories within these comic books and continue to expand the Voyage to the Stars world in more ways they can enjoy.” said series creator Ryan Copple in a statement from the publisher on the new project.

James Asmus expressed that he felt “Working with their creative team, we quickly found a chapter to tell that is simultaneously a meaningful time for our heroes (grieving the loss of Earth and taking the first steps toward avenging it) and tells a self-contained quest across a pretty wild sampling of the Voyage universe!”
